The new BMW 5 Series Touring is now on the road. The first vehicles were delivered to customers in Europe and Japan a few days ago. Now in its sixth generation, the sporty all-rounder in the premium segment of the upper mid-range vehicle segment is being launched for the first time as the all-electric BMW i5 Touring. Two models with purely electric drive and two with highly efficient four-cylinder diesel engines are available for the market launch. By summer 2024, the range of the new BMW 5 Series Touring and Sedan will be extended to include additional models with plug-in hybrid drive and an in-line six-cylinder diesel engine.<br/><br/>The Bavarian premium car manufacturer is systematically continuing the electrification of its model range with the BMW i5 Touring and the soon-to-be-available plug-in hybrid versions of the new BMW 5 Series Touring. The top model of the new series is the BMW i5 M60 xDrive Touring with up to 442 kW/601 hp. At its side is the new BMW i5 eDrive40 Touring with an output of up to 250 kW/340 hp and a range of up to 560 kilometres determined in the WLTP test cycle.<br/><br/>In addition, the BMW 520d Touring and BMW 520d xDrive Touring models, which are particularly popular in Europe, are now available. Their four-cylinder diesel engine is combined with 48-volt mild hybrid technology and develops a maximum output of 145 kW/197 hp.

In both cases, they are official RRPs that do not include discounts, offers, promotional offers or any other purchase assistance.<br/><br/>This attractive, technological and safe vehicle is the 'zero emissions' alternative to the successful gasoline OMODA 5, which has already been sold in our country since the beginning of the year. The new OMODA 5 EV is a compact-sized SUV that measures 4,424 mm in length, 1,830 mm and a height of 1,588 mm.<br/><br/>It has a 100% electric motor that transmits a power of 150 kW (204 HP) and a maximum torque of 340 Nm to the front wheels. Thanks to this, it is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds and reaching a maximum speed of 172 km/h.<br/><br/>The new OMODA 5 EV is powered by a 61.05 kWh capacity battery, which certifies a range of 430 km (according to the WLTP protocol). It can be recharged from 30 to 80% in an estimated time of between 3 to 4 hours (with alternating current in a 11 kW outlet) or in 28 minutes (with direct current at 80 kW).")

Thanks to ECO Assist, the EQE SUV also decelerates automatically to a standstill when it detects vehicles ahead, for example at traffic lights.<br/><br/>The charging system is located above the rear axle of the EQE SUV. It can be used to charge the battery from the public mains with single-phase or three-phase alternating current and an optional charging capacity of up to 22 kW.<br/><br/>Mercedes-Benz issues a battery certificate for its high-voltage batteries, and thus a performance guarantee to customers: 10 years or a mileage of 250,000 kilometres with a defined residual capacity.<br/><br/>The chassis of the new EQE SUV comprises a four-link suspension at the front and an independent multi-link suspension at the rear. Thanks to the comparatively short wheelbase of 3030 millimetres and the corresponding suspension tuning, it feels particularly agile and manoeuvrable even with the basic set-up.<br/><br/>The AIRMATIC air suspension with ADS+ continuously adjustable damping is available as an optional extra. To increase ground clearance, the vehicle level can be raised by up to 30 millimetres. Rear-axle steering with a maximum steering angle of 10 degrees is available as an option.")
