Description: It is not uncommon for silverbacks to perform intimidating charge displays to protect their family against any potential threat. Sindila was rescued by the Projet Gorille Fernan-Vaz in 2005 from the hands of poachers. He now lives on the Rehabilitation Island with 9 other orphaned gorillas who have also all been victims of the bushmeat trade.
